Function Bands

-Function bands can play at any type of celebration/event
-The musical choices change depending on the audience.
-Function bands can charge from £350 - £12,000 or more (cheap friend deal)
-Public liability insurance. (£20 a year). Is an insurance for bands in case something goes wrong such as injury and other things of the sort.
- The Musicians Union offers both instrument and personal liability insurance for musicians. This insurance cost £201.00 per year, but for students it is a more affordable price of £20.00 a year.
Other Function Bands:
The Fanatics, Rock & Pop Function Band: The Fanatics are the band of choice for hundreds of brides, grooms and event planners all over the UK-They are made up of a lead Female Vocals, Lead Male Vocals/Guitar, Bass Guitar/Backing Vocals, Guitar/Backing Vocals & Drums/Backing Vocals.
-Due to this band have 2 different types of dress code as shown above, it allows them to perform at a wider variety of gigs and venues.
Everlong, Pop-Rock & Soul Function Band:
-Everlong are an exciting 3 piece band who cover current hits from Pharrell & Taylor Swift, to classics by Elvis & Whitney Houston.
-They also have an Acoustic & Blues set also available, Everlong are great for many occasions.
Amberjacks, Rock & Pop Function Band:
-This band has perform at venues like weddings, corporate events, private parties and balls.
-Amberjack are a 6 piece function band boasting both male & female vocals with a diverse repertoire from Chic, Beyonce & Jessie J to The Beatles, Daft Punk & The Killers.
-Amberjacks also has the same vibe with their dress code making them suitable for a wide.
There are more than handful of ways to manage a function band. You can either choose to pursue the fast of finding work by talking to venue managers and club owners. Then you would also have to set up things like a Facebook page, a Youtube channel and a Twitter feed to self promote your band but after doing these things there is then a long period of waiting for someone to contact you. Even though doing it this way is more profitable in the long run it is many times more difficult.

The Reckless Serenades (Our Function Band)
As a Function band we would something like a website or twitter page with the information of whom we are, what we do, the music we play. The website or page would most likely consist of various forms/ways to contact the band for bookings or other enquires. Some sort of show reel or example video showing the quality of the band. We want our band Logo to be something linked to our name so when we meet up with the graphics team, each of the band members will lay forward an idea in how it should look and hopefully all come together on a final decision by the end of the sessions with the team. We are an a acoustic party/birthday function band with a focus that slides closer towards the modern era but we do drift from some old song

After conveying some of our initial thoughts and ideas of our bands image to the graphics team today I feel as if as a band we now have a better, more unified understanding of what each member wants the bands image to be.
From the last update on 'The Reckless Serenades' band. We have lost a member and had to choose a whole different set of songs. we then had to slightly adjust the type of function band we are from a rock/party band to a more teen/young adult birthday function band. Codi, Erica and I are going to be meeting up with the graphic designers again tomorrow after our morning session down at the mushrooms. This meet-up session will give them a chance to put forward the things they've come up with like logos, images and other things of the sort.
